Thursday, December 30, 2010 Everything is forgivable (by a compassion mind).
Small-picture morality is eye-for-an-eye. Big-picture morality is 3d eye.
Small-picture morality is tit-for-tat, a barter of justice. Big-picture morality understands that justice is just what is.
Small-picture morality is conditional acceptance ("if you meet such and such arbitrary rules of conduct, you are deemed good"). Big-picture morality is unconditional acceptance ("you are good, regardless; you are not what you think, feel, say, do; you are not the interplay of nature and nurture; I am you, tat tvam asi" - that sort of thing-less thing).
Read Kohlberg. Cultivate unconditional (post-conventional) self- and other-acceptance.
