Look at any object of matter.

Now close your eyes and see its image in your mind.

The object of consciousness you see in your mind is too made of matter.  You see, the seen (the Object) and the seer (the Subject) are made of the same material stuff and, possibly, are literally one and the same.

Let me restate this:

Mind is not just a function of matter.  Mind is matter that minds.
