« Trans-Knowledge Express: Maya-Anicca-Anatta »

First, we learn object permanence, i.e. that things exist whether we see them or not.

Then, we learn object impermanence, that nothing lasts, that everything changes, that no object is indefinitely permanent.

Lastly, we learn that there never were any objects in the first place, i.e. that objects are but dynamic stabilities, vortices of illusion in a flow of change.

And so we mature (epistemologically) from Maya (doctrine of illusion) to Anicca (doctrine of impermanence) to Anatta (doctrine of non-selfhood).
