« Subject of Neural Gossip »
Sunday, January 8, 2012 As an organ, a brain is a community of stand-alone neurons. So, the idea that a brain is an organ is misleading. A brain is not an organ but a collection of (neural) organisms. A neural tribe, as I tend to say.
Consciousness is the sum total of neural gossip about the world outside.
Reality, in all its unknowable objectivity, is the subject of all this neural gossip that we call our "selves."
